Cloaking for Google Ads

Google reviews a landing page with both Googlebot's general web crawl and AdsBot, its ads-specific reviewer, and can re-crawl a live page at any point after approval. Cloaking X's job on a Google Ads stream is to recognize that review traffic and route it away from your money page without touching a real click.

How Google's AdsBot and Googlebot Review a Landing Page

Google Ads' own reviewer, AdsBot, crawls the destination URL behind an ad from a published, documented range of IP addresses to confirm the landing experience matches policy. Googlebot's general crawl can separately index the same page. Both originate from Google's own autonomous system (AS15169) — network-level signals that a real visitor's residential or mobile connection doesn't carry.

Unlike a one-time approval check, Google can re-crawl a live landing page later — sometimes well after the initial review — which is why a stream needs to keep recognizing reviewer traffic on an ongoing basis, not just at launch.

How Cloaking X Filters Google Review Traffic

Cloaking X attributes AdsBot and Googlebot-like requests using their public IP ranges and AS15169 network origin, at the edge, before the request reaches your money page — the reviewer sees your fallback page, a real click reaches your offer.

The same stream captures gclid, gbraid, and wbraid (Google's click identifiers) automatically, so Google Enhanced Conversions and your tracker keep attributing the clicks that do reach your offer.

SIG.01

AdsBot & Googlebot Attribution

Recognizes Google's own review and indexing crawlers by their published IP ranges and AS15169 network origin.

SIG.02

Delayed Re-Crawl Detection

Flags a device fingerprint returning to the same stream after an unusual delay — the signature of a scheduled re-review, not a genuine returning visitor.

SIG.03

8 Delivery Modes

Proxy, 302 redirect, meta refresh, iframe, cross-origin iframe, JS redirect, click-reveal, or mirror — pick whichever fits your Google Ads tracking template.

SIG.04

gclid / gbraid / wbraid Capture

Automatic click-ID capture for all three Google click-identifier formats, alongside RedTrack/Voluum/Keitaro/Binom/Utmify if you're running a tracker in front of the stream.

Setting Up Google Ads in 3 Steps

  1. 1

    Create a stream

Set your fallback page (or use the built-in generator) and your money page(s) for this campaign.

  2. 2

    Choose a delivery mode

Most Google Ads streams run proxy or 302 redirect delivery — pick the mode that matches your tracking template.

  3. 3

Point your Google Ads tracking template at the stream

Use the stream link (or your own domain, if you're on a plan with custom domains) as the final URL / tracking template destination.
